Our Sunday school class had a spirited discussion on who Melchezidek was last Sunday. Some believed he was a man. Some, he was a pre-incarnate Christ—a christophany. We’re studying Hebrews chapter seven. I hold to the christophany view. One man brought up a “middle” view that he was a “type” of Christ. Hebrews 7:3 seems to incontrovertibly prove that he was of divine origin. What do you think? (I’ve recently signed up for your podcasts after finding you on Brandon Holthaus’ church tracker. Am enjoying them! My husband and I are very interested in eschatology.)
Hi Pam! Thank y’all for the encouragement! I do lean toward the Christophany view as well (Tho, I’ve gone back and forth a bit over the years). It’s great your Sunday School class discusses these things, sounds like a good group!
